Picture/Video Threads in SWLP

This isnt a complaint, per se, just some confusion and curiosity.

How did the 'Sex with a Large Penis' section turn into a place largely picture posting? I don't mind, it's just weird there's a whole section for vids and pics of your favorite porn stars and OF models, but it seems most of them are posted her anyway.

For me it is a complaint, although not technically against the rules. I loved when discussion threads had only discussions, comments and questions, answers and opinions on various topics, without the random "look at my cock!" pictures thrown in.

Unfortunately many of the fun threads in the Et cetera and Funny Stuff categories that started with foods and other non-sexual things turned into the penis pics and chicks with dicks show. I always try to tyrun the next post back to the original intent, but it's a losing battle and the same few people continuously post the exact same pictures over, and over, and over, and over.

I feel you, it's particularly vexing seeing the same few accounts chime into a thread just to throw a pic in, especially if it was already mostly discussion focused. But as @Jon1971 said, it's pretty much an inevitablity

I'm abandoning a few threads that were fun and engaging, even with pictures, that have been completely taken over with penis and trans content by the same 2-3 people. They are now just penis show-off threads, which sucks.

Yeah, I've never, ever had to block someone here for being mean, ignorant, etc. But there are folks I've blocked that post 15-20 pics at a time, multiple times, to various threads that just make them unreadable without blocking

I feel your pain. I don't know what the solution is. This is what the report center is for. We are a small team and the majority of our time is spent keeping the community safe (removing spam, illegal content, etc).

I would love to hear suggestions on how you would fix this and what you believe this section should be.

Is there any way to make a specific forum, or a specific new thread in a forum text-only? Far too many discussions have devolved into penis picture "show-off" threads when a real meaningful discussion was underway.

For example, in this specific form "Sex With a Large Penis" if I wanted to add a new thread/topic, and had the option that it was text only, no pictures allowed, it would facilitate discussion and the exhibitionists would have to go elsewhere.

There is also faaaaaaar too much solo male content in the Straight sections. I have no idea what can be done there. Maybe a Solo Male video/picture forum of it's own so the pseudo "straight" men can post all the solo males there (straight, bi, gay) that they want?

Wow, thanks for the response. It validates that this is something actually significant and I'm not just being a Grinch. Thank you for all y'all's work in keeping this place safe and friendly!

Honestly, I have 0 experience maintaining a web page, let alone a forum. So I have 0 clue what would be a good solution. Maybe a rule against self promotion posts outside of the show off section? But even then, that would be really hard to enforce, and there's good reasons to post yourself while in discussions, especially about physical attributes where a picture can help (hell I've done this myself).

To be frank, other than the random self promoting and porn star/OF model spamming, SWLP is seems pretty well defined. I think it should be a place to talk about sex, give experiences of how being hung has affected the bedroom, different techniques people have for mitigating issues in the bedroom, etc. And obviously, things are going to get spicy, it's a porn site after all, and that's ok. It's just when there's spamming and low effort posts that it gets annoying, especially when there's a whole celebrity thread and show off thread for that stuff

We want to make LPSG more enjoyable. That is always our goal. It is tricky with how big we are right now. We are playing around with the idea of giving a few sections of the site a moderator for that section. A bit like reddit. Empowering a group of users that frequent and understand a section and having them help us moderate it We aren't there yet but working on it.

Yeah, that wouldn't work. Folks don't use the features we have now. For example, someone starts a thread with a question, details their options, and doesn't attach a poll to the thread.

We want to make LPSG more enjoyable. That is always our goal. It is tricky with how big we are right now. We are playing around with the idea of giving a few sections of the site a moderator for that section. A bit like reddit. Empowering a group of users that frequent and understand a section and having them help us moderate it We aren't there yet but working on it.

Active mods on certain sections is a grand idea. The sheer girth of some of these threads might pose an issue, but definitely something worth delving into, as long as they had the tools necessary
